ARE THERE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS THAT I CAN WATCH TO HELP ME?


The first step is to learn how to use the software application.  Below are links to several instructional videos that you need to watch.  Each takes several minutes but if you watch them all, you will know everything you need to know to update your website.  I watched them and was able to start working in less than an hour.   If you have any specific questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.  Again, the email address is sportpics@misdmail.org.

WHAT ARE MY WEBSITE RESPONSIBILITIES AND WHAT ARE THE SITE MANAGERS RESPONSIBILITIES?


Let’s talk about responsibilities.  Below I have listed what my responsibilities are as the site manager and what your responsibilities are as the coach.  If you have any questions or concerns about these responsibilities, please email me at sportpics@misdmail.org. 

Site Managers Responsibilities
  1. Format new websites.
  2. Transfer all information, documents, and links from old sites to new sites
  3. Train coaches on how to use the website/software
  4. Make sure all coaches can link the new website
  5. Posting ALL pictures
  6. Link all schedules from RankOne to the new website
Coaches Responsibilities
  1. Make sure the right coaches are on each individual sports page
  2. Link email address to coaches name and make sure there is a contact phone number
  3. Make sure all schedules are inputted in Rank One as soon as they are available
  4. Updates news area at the beginning of the school year, once a month during the sports off   season, and at least every week during season.
  5. Send all pictures, broken links, and any other problems to the site manager:  sportpics@misdmail.org
  6. Learn to use the new website
  7. Do not delete any titles or links that are part of the consistency of the web pages.
  8. Upload any documents, logos, etc that will be used on the individual pages.
  9. Have a last updated date somewhere on your site so parents know when the last time information was added to the site.

WHERE DO I GO TO MAKE CHANGES TO MY WEBSITE AND WHAT IS MY USERNAME AND PASSWORD?

The website that you go to make changes to your website is https://www.mansfieldisd.org/admin.cfm.  Your username and password will get you access to all the athletic websites afflicated with your school including the athletic homepage.  Your username is your school initials plus athletics.  For example Summit High School is shsathletics and Howard Middle School tahathletics, etc.  You will need to contact the athletic coordinator on your campus to verify your username and to obtain your password.

2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR


Coaches,

Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! 
We are going to continue to use the same software as we did last year.  There are a few good advantages to the new website/software.  The greatest advantage is that you have access to your website and can make changes from any computer that has Internet access.  You don’t have to be at school to update your site.  The websites and software application are web based on don’t reside on the school servers.
There are also some disadvantages.  The biggest change is that the district is moving towards consistency with academic and all other district websites.  They want them all to look similar from page to page and campus to campus.  Because of this, we have been very restricted on the parts of the web pages that we have control over. 

The district has established how the top of the page and the left column of the page will look.  We have no access to these areas.  We only have access to the right column.  With that being said, we have come up with a format that will hopefully fulfill our coaching needs and satisfy the district need to be consistent.  Another disadvantage is the spacing issues.  This was also an issue with our old software and any webpage software that I have ever used.  Sometimes it double spaces, sometimes it single spaces….Sometimes the letters are big or small…..Practice makes it a little easier.
